District Support for Local Standards Boards (LSB)
Commissioner Vilaseca requests that all superintendents actively support their district LSBs by granting the basic supports such as: provide time at in-service meetings and individual school faculty meetings to present relicensure procedures/updates and regard LSB service as district committee work to considering more substantial supports such as release time with substitute coverage during the school year. The Vermont Re-Licensing Process: A Reflection of Ongoing Professional Growth, A Handbook for Educators
This handbook assists educators and local and regional standards boards in developing individual professional development plans (IPDPs) and re-licensing portfolios. It is a tool that guides educators through the license renewal process of self-assessment, goal development, professional development, learning implementation and learning reflection.
