Educational Support System (ESS) Survey for 2007-2008
Act 117 requires that annually each district provide the Vermont Commissioner of Education with a description of the Educational Support System (ESS), how it is funded, and how building the capacity of the ESS is addressed in the School Action Plan. Use the link above to view:
- A memo containing the Web link to the ESS Survey and describing procedures, timeline and adjustments,
- A list of Potential Funding Sources for Supports and Services in the Educational Support System and,
- A copy of the ESS Survey Questions that can be used as a worksheet to fully prepare answers before completing the actual ESS Survey on line. NOTE: Access the ESS Survey using the Web link embedded in the PDF. Do NOT attempt to complete the survey using the "sample" provided in the PDF attachment. It is also essential that only one ESS Survey be completed per school.

Positive Behavioral Support (PBS)
Vermont has developed a state-wide system of training and support for implementing Positive Behavior Support (PBS) in schools. This system has been in existence since 2007 and continues to develop in response to the growing needs of implementing schools.
