OVERVIEW

The department is responsible for training and qualifying driver education instructors, providing ongoing professional development and technical assistance to driver education instructors and school administrators in schools throughout the state and for approving driver education programs in all of the state’s high schools. Each driver education program must provide a minimum of 30 hours of classroom instruction, six hours of in-vehicle instruction and six hours of in-vehicle observation. Classroom instruction must include the effects of alcohol and drugs on driving, motor vehicle liability insurance and motor vehicle financial responsibility. |

Reimbursement Request & Student Enrollment Form for School Year 2008-2009 (Added 8/28/08)
This form is used by driver education teachers to report, at the end of a semester, all students enrolled in the program. It also serves as the basis for determining the amount of reimbursement a school receives and requires the signatures of both the instructor and the school business manager.
