  Vermont's Comprehensive Assessment System (CAS) includes both state and local assessments. The curriculum and assessment program supports the development and implementation of state assessments. It also supports professional development networks and other opportunities that focus on the coordination of curriculum, instruction and assessment (both state and local) with the Vermont Framework of Standards and Learning Opportunities and the Grade Expectations. The department's Standards and Assessment Team provides the resources, technical assistance and professional development that support this program.

Riverdeep Learning Village Training & Support Materials
Riverdeep Learning Village is an online environment that provides educators with access to tools for the creation and dissemination of instructional materials and assessments that connect to state standards. Learning Village is intended to facilitate online collaboration and sharing of instructional resources by all the members of an educational learning community.
To support educators in using Learning Village, the department has created a series of help videos with each video covering a discrete topic. View the videos using the link above.

Vermont’s Framework of Standards and Learning Opportunities
The Framework identifies the essential knowledge and skills to be taught and learned in schools.
NOTE: Both the Word and PDF versions of this document now include the revised science standard 7:16.
